Institutional Collaboration Index

CollaborationIndex metric (0–100) that quantifies the internal collaboration culture of an institution through its scientific co-authorship network, built from works published by its members in recent years.

The output includes, beyond the global score, the total number of researchers and collaborations detected, network density, average coauthors per person, count of isolated researchers, the largest cluster fraction, the number of works analyzed and the temporal range covered.

It is accompanied by a ranking of the most connected researchers in the institution (with their work count and number of links), useful for identifying articulating nodes and potential bridges between groups.

Because the metric is size-normalized, it allows direct comparison of departments, schools, centers and universities of very different scale on a common scale. Useful for institutional diagnostics, strategic planning and accountability around collaborative culture.

How it works

  1. 1Enter the institution you want to analyze.
  2. 2The system builds the co-authorship network from works published by its members in recent years.
  3. 3You get the 0 to 100 score with network density, clusters, isolated researchers and a ranking of the most connected.

Who it is for

  • Vice-rectorates and research managers who want to measure internal collaboration.
  • Heads of departments or centers looking for bridges between groups.
  • Agencies and evaluators analyzing the structure of an institution.
  • Scientific and institutional strategy consultants.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does it measure?

Internal collaboration culture: co-authorship network density, average coauthors per person, isolated researchers, largest collaborative cluster fraction and number of collaborations detected.

What is the connected-researchers ranking for?

It identifies the nodes that articulate the network and potential bridges between groups, useful information for internal collaboration policies.

What period does the analysis cover?

Works published by the institution's members in recent years; the report states the exact temporal range analyzed.

How much does it cost?
